Red: the color of lust, power and danger

Every color has their own relation in magic and spell craft. The meanings of various colors can vary depending on the path and believe system.

Colors can be used to give boost to your magical work in many ways, like candle magic, writing on colored paper, using certain color in charmbag etc.

Red is a color that has significant impact on our mind and emotions. Depending on the amount and placement of the color, it can cause change to our actions and effect our current mood. As a very visible color, red attracts attention more than other colors, and that is why it is used as sign of danger. It's been studied that red can elevate blood pressure, enhance libido and increase confidence.

Usually red is associated with energy, passion and action, that’s why it is used as accent color to stimulate fast action, commonly seen in "click here" or "buy now" buttons on websites and such, people tend to click on button that is red more often than other colored buttons.

In magic, red has multiple meanings, most of them seem to come from historical association from many cultures. Red is viewed as magical color of action, birth, change, courage, lust, passion, life, excitement, energy, celebration, sex, but red is quite often seen as a color for hexing and cursing. It is powerful color.

Planetary association for red is mars and element is fire, some sees it as color for south.
