Magical candles

Candles are very versatile tool in magic and everyday life. They come in many shape, size and color, also one can get scented candles in many fragrances such as cinnamon, pine, almost in every scent you can imagine.

There are diffrent type of waxes and basemasses that are used in making candles, I'm familiar with beewax and soywax, though I've made few stearin ones as well.

Beewax is natural material, but not vegan friendly option, soywax is - to my knowledge, animal-free product. I like To work with beewax, the scent of it, is quite nice.

You can purchase beewax in precolored sheets or natural yellow ones. Beewax sheets are easy to work with and for taper candles, there is no need to melt the wax, you can just roll it with wick and the candle is ready.

I buy my beewax in natural color bulks, and usually color the base with candle color while melting the beewax. I don't personal like the markings on premade sheets, so I redo them by pouring melted wax to bakingsheet and let it cool a little before rolling the candles.

Generally I like to keep my candles simple, but sometimes I use multiple colors when making tea lights.

Candles are probably the most used item in magic and spell craft. Probably most of us have used it in some point of our lives, as the blowing candle and making wish on birthday, is simplest way of candle magic.

In magic making and crafting spells, candle colors have diffrent meaning, an in black is related to protection and such, red can be seen as color for lust, anger and other big emotions, I will do a post for all the colors I know and their meaning.

But with the candles and like all other materials and tools, they do nothing just themself. You need to learn the basics too.
